Despite being decades old augmented reality still excites my child-like mind. But it seems we’re only just seeing the cusp of what’s possible in terms of marketing.
The video above is the work of Absolut, a Swedish vodka producer, and is a classic example of augmentation. After launched the iPhone app and pointing the camera at the label on the bottle a beautiful 3D landscape of Sweden popups up with a recipe of a cocktail.
My personal favorite though is Lego’s (below). Holding the box up to the in-store camera will show a completed model on the video screen as if it were sitting on the box ready made.
