If you’re addicted to your smartphone, you’ll have noticed its main flaw; after a few snaps, and rounds of your favourite game, the battery charge seems to have vanished. Successfully funded on Indiegogo in October 2015, ThinCharge, as well as being a protective case, provides another full battery life for your iPhone 6/6S.

ThinCharge does what it says on the tin: it is a very thin case, that hugs your phone nicely, and provides charging power. You can charge the case and your phone simultaneously, simply using your normal charging cable. You could also charge the case separately, but that defeats the purpose of a case. Chances are you would drop your phone the minute the case comes off (we all have at least one friend with a screen smashed beyond repair…)

Charging happens through the top of the case (completely sealed with a dust cover, when not in use), the usual bottom plug being used to connect the iPhone and the case. To recharge your phone during the day, simply press the + volume button for 3 seconds. You’ll feel that familiar buzz of a charging iPhone, and the battery symbol will also change accordingly. To stop, press the button again for 3 seconds. Tip: activate charging while on your lock screen, so you don’t have to re-adjust volume settings every time!

The button cover is equipped with a green and red LED, that will indicate different levels of power available in the case. We find this a nice touch, but quite hard to count the number of flashes that indicate different percentages; and you probably won’t use it very often, as long as you iPhone regains power. The case is now available from ChargeTech in white, gold and black for a discounted price of $85 (the black case is reduced even further at the moment).

Overall, we’re quite impressed with the case and its sleek design, that hugs your phone’s curves tightly. It isn’t bulky at all (only weighs 70 grams), and is practical as well as discreet.
