A chronic lack of stability is an illness suffered by many, it seems, as Smoovie met its funding goal on day one. Those who are shaky on their feet (me included) will rejoice at the new compact steadicam that may not cure our ailment, but at least make it look like we’re normal in Facebook videos.

Smoovie follows the same design philosophy of the selfie stick, weighing only 125 grams and folding down to fit in your pocket. It’s aim though isn’t to capture your mug, but beautiful videos with pleasing floatiness.

It’s the work of product designer Alex Kalogroulis who last year launched the A-Bike and a raft of successful inventions preceding it.

“We’re really excited because now professional looking video is accessible to everyone. Much like the selfie stick last year, we think this is the new video stick for those that want to share on the go.” -Alex Kalogroulis, Product Designer

Smoovie is looking for £10,000 on Kickstarter and will reward those with one who back £11 – £16.
