Created by Rodolphe Hasselvander BUDDY is the do-it-all robot for your home, capable of home security, entertainment, communication and care.

“It’s been a long time dream of mine to bring a companion robot to mass market. BUDDY is the manifestation of this dream: a friendly robot that helps with day to day life, but also boasts the latest in robotics technology. I’m excited to bring it to the crowdfunding community today.” -Rodolphe Hasselvander

BUDDY is equipped with a range finder sensor, thermal sensor, camera, and object avoidance sensors thus providing a detailed view of its surroundings. A tablet is at its core and doubles up as an adorable anime-style face.

The processing power the tablet provides brings with it advanced functionality such as the ability to understand speech and recognise humans or objects. Using its range of sensors BUDDY is able to map the home for navigation.

The robot is coded in 3D Unity making it easy to program via a drag and drop interface. More advanced applications can be created with knowledge of C++, C# or JavaScript.

BUDDY is seeking 100,000 USD on Indiegogo to take it from manufacture through to production.
