Hubii – a Better Way to Find News

Techmog is a liquid network of engineers, programmers, designers and entrepreneurs in and around London who report on the industry we work in, from an insider's view. We're always looking for Londoners with something interesting to say. Send an email to info@techmog.com if you would like to contribute to the website.

With such an enormous selection of news websites out there it’s pretty hard to find decent ones, usually because the ones with the highest readership seem to be the ones with the loudest voices and not┬ánecessarily┬áthe best content. But now, thanks to Hubii, we can find them!

Hubii is essentially an RSS reader which allows you filter news websites down to just the ones you like. But the great thing is the way they allow you to discover new news outlets by location. For example, I could find all the awesome tech blogs nearby in London. There’s an exhaustive set of filters, including type (blog, newspaper, magazine), category, time period and language.

The website is fairly new and you can tell that although there are many news websites added there aren’t all of them. TechMog seems to be the only tech blog in the UK. But as long as Hubii becomes popular and achieves a good solid database of websites the service will really come into it’s own. Personally, I’m most interested in finding new blogs!
