Sugru is pretty fantastic stuff. The sticky putty has so many applications they have engineers to find them all. Design engineer Alex Bygrave accepted the challenge to build possibly the greatest Sugru invention ever – a high powered water gun.

Within a few weeks Alex had evolved the concept from a water pistol to something that looks actually dangerous. Inspired by the original Gatling gun he added 6 chambers, each full of coloured water.

He designed the high flow rate of the water to be powered by CO2 welding canisters (a bit like a soda stream!) pressuring fire extinguishers filled with 10 litres of water! While using other parts you could easily find at your local plumbing shop — like plastic quick connect fittings, chrome copper pipes and PVC pipe fittings!

Sugru wasn’t simply used a token amount, but was integral to the build, being used for pistons, switch insulation and the injectors.

And they’ve amazingly posted instructions to build you own on Instructables.
