Students studying mechanical and electrical engineering at Olin College, USA have made the dreams of many a reality with their marshmallow shooter which tracks faces and aims for mouths.
After discovering that ‘Popinator‘ was a hoax it seemed like a robot feeder was just not possible, but with four servos, a webcam, a solenoid and an Arduino Uno these students have developed a surprisingly solid machine. Python and OpenCV was used to track the faces and they’ve very kindly uploaded their source to Github.
