London based design studio Florian Dussopt has developed a table that can power fluorescent light bulbs wirelessly. The tech isn’t new, but seldom used in this way. The table generates an electromagnetic field large enough to excite the gas inside fluorescent tubes up to about a foot away.

While not especially useful, it is pretty cool. But if you do get bored the table doubles up as an electromagnetic cannon cable of frying all electronics.
