Andrew McPherson, Lecturer in Digital Media at Queen Mary University of London, has Kickstarted a campaign to raise money for his ingenious touch sensitive keyboard key overlays.

The touch sensitive pads are stuck to each key and use a similar technology as what’s found on smartphones to pinpoint finger presses. The data is gathered by microcontrollers in each pad and sent to a computer to process and output the sound.

With a likely steep learning curve the musician can accomplish a sound similar to many analogue instrument with control over volume and pitch.

In just a few hours Andrew has raised over £2000. Want it? Fund it.
