Good news for our foreign friends! The BBC today announced the expansion of the iPlayer app onto iPhones and iPod touches, previously only the iPad, in 16 new countries – Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Also, a deal with DRG (a programme distributor) means [mainly] Channel 4 shows like Peep Show, Black Books, Green Wing, Father Ted and Shameless will be added to iPlayer.

The iPhone and iPod Touch app is expected on Thursday.
