New 3D imagery from Google

Google the company now synonymous with maps has been very busy indeed and has come up with some fantastic upgrades to their maps products. They have used some awesome new imagery rendering techniques and computer vision to create 3D cityscapes, complete with buildings, terrain and even landscaping, from 45-degree aerial imagery.

If an image is a thousand words then this 0:49 second video will say much more than I ever could. This is a look at where we’re heading as technology becomes better and better and companies including Google strives to create the best user experiences.
