Musical Jelly

Posted 27th Mar 2012

Finally, permission to play with our food. Not only is jelly (jello for our American offspring) fun to jiggle and poke, it can be used as a musical instrument too! Noisy Jelly is a tool kit that lets you create your own musical jelly.

The board the jelly sits on is a capacitive sensor. The musical note outputted depends on the amount of salt in the jelly, the size of the jelly itself and the force of your poking finger. The varying resistance is converted into a note, played by the board.

Is this the new Dubstep? I think it may be.
